Defending his clients is the main role of the lawyer and undoubtedly the most well-known of all. The lawyer must be able to defend them, whether as a victim, defendant or accused, each time a trial is initiated, when no amicable solution has been found.
This role is carried out:
- Before all the courts of the judicial order, whether it is the departmental court, the regional court, the summary judge, in first instance or on appeal.
- Before all the criminal courts, before the investigating judge or the investigating chamber, or before the trial courts, i.e. the police court, the criminal court and the assize court.
- As well as before arbitral tribunals and mediation centres. The lawyer defends the lawyer, drafts the conclusions if necessary and pleads before all these courts.
